Get your wardrobe ready for spring !

Today is the 1st of April... at the moment the temperatures are not really spring-like yet, but from next week we are supposed to have temperatures up to 20 degrees. So it's time for those spring dresses! No matter if you do a seasonal rotation of your clothes or if you can accommodate the clothes of all seasons in your closet, it makes sense to clean out 2x a year (spring/autumn) and create new order again. Here's how to do it:

  • take enough time for this project... for the whole wardrobe of 1 person you probably need at least 3 hours, if you want to tidy up sustainably. So maybe wait until the weekend... and be sure to take before/after photos!!! You will be fascinated.
  •  then empty the wardrobe. Choose a suitable place for all the clothes (for example on the bed or on a blanket on the floor) and sort the clothes into categories such as T-shirts, jumpers, skirts etc. as soon as you take them out. This will save you a lot of time later.
  •  Clean out all the compartments
  •  Now take each garment in your hand... you can ask yourself the following questions. Does the garment make me happy? Is it good for my figure? Does it fit me at the moment? Would I like to wear it again? Would I buy it again? If you can answer yes to these questions, the case is clear... Items that don't make you happy, that you don't wear much or ever, that aren't very beneficial for your figure, can move on... if you are unsure, you can also make a temporary storage in the basement. If you haven't missed them in the next 6 months (i.e. the entire spring and summer), they can go.... Don't forget the date on the box! Really try to reduce the number of items in your wardrobe. It makes your life so much easier when you have less choice in your wardrobe and only your favourite pieces are there. I've done this myself and getting dressed in the morning is so much easier now. Also packing for the holidays... but that's not an issue at the moment with the shut-down.
  • Rearrange the wardrobe.
  •  There are the following possibilities for the winers' things: Store in the basement/shelf, on top or in the back of the cupboard. You can also put them in these vacuum bags. That saves space.
  •  Finally, a few general tips: if you want the wardrobe to look uniform, get matching hangers. If space is still a bit tight, you can consider moving the shelves or buying 1-2 additional shelves (it's not that easy at the moment). You can get additional shelves cut to the right size for a few francs in DIY stores.
  • And don't forget the photo "afterwards"!

Have fun and see you tomorrow!
