Tidy up the cleaning cupboard or the cleaning utensils....

Funnily enough, the cleaning cupboard was the first project I tackled during my training as a tidying coach. In our house, this cupboard was an absolute horror. As soon as I opened the door, all sorts of things fell out and often onto my head... I don't find it easy to organise the cleaning cupboard, because this "room" is usually crammed with what feels like 1,000 things such as hoovers, buckets, mops, various cleaning products, shoe shine things, rags and much more. This is exactly why it's important that we make the most of the space here! Here are my top tips:

  1.  as always, you empty the cupboard and clean it thoroughly
  2.  Consider whether everything that was in the cleaning cupboard really belongs here or can perhaps find a place elsewhere.
  3.  Think about how you can best use the height and depth of the cupboard. Also use the walls where you can put hooks or clamps for mops and brooms. Maybe boxes will help you to sort everything or stackable drawers...before you buy or order anything, make sure you measure the space!
  4.  When sorting by category: think about whether you really need so many things from one category. For example, I got rid of a lot of rags and only kept the nice ones that I like to use. I have also reduced the number of cleaning products. I no longer need dozens of different products. You can clean most things in the house with one cleaning agent (e.g. cleaning vinegar).

I wish you all a great weekend and stay healthy! Next week we will continue with exciting, bigger projects:
Organise wardrobe
Clean out the bookshelf and
clear out the cellar...
